About Therapy

What can I expect?

I am trained in Pluralistic Counselling and my approach to therapy is largely informed by pluralistic ideas.

Pluralism is a relatively new way of thinking about therapy. It is based on the idea that there isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ therapeutic orientation that holds all the answers to understanding ourselves and others. Instead, pluralism suggests that we are likely to want and benefit from different things within the therapeutic relationship at different points during the therapeutic process.

As a Pluralistic Counsellor, I value your individuality and unique needs for therapy. During our sessions, we will engage in gentle and explorative conversations about your life and past experiences and how these can impact your current feelings, relationships and views of yourself. I offer education, validation and at times I may gently challenge you to aid your realisations and learning.

In my work, I endeavour to support you gain insight and understand your experiences in a way that makes sense and is meaningful to you.

Individual Therapy

Gain clarity about yourself

I support you to build and develop self and other-awareness, uncover and understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck in unhelpful situations, and make sense of your life experiences. I can help you identify different ways of responding to difficult situations in a way that aligns with your values, supports and nurtures your individual growth and enriches your relationships.

Personal Therapy for Therapists

Holding space for you

As a practicing mental health professional, I understand the very real and human needs that exist alongside your professional life. You may find this space to be helpful alongside supervision. A space where you can be heard, seen, and held too!

Safe Place

Check-in and ground

If you have previously been my client and perhaps something unexpected has happened and you just want a safe place to talk things through with someone who will listen, care and be present with you without the need to attend regular sessions, this may be an option for you to consider.

I can support you with:

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Childhood trauma (C-PTSD)

  • Relational trauma including domestic abuse, sexual abuse, and narcissistic abuse

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • University life

  • Life in a country that is not your native culture or country of origin

  • Being a carer

  • Personal development

  • Women's issues

  • Anything you would like to explore within the support and safety of our relationship
